Voice Bootcamp

I was in Toronto again and on this trip I had the distinct pleasure of meeting with the folks at Voice Bootcamp. I can identify with specializing since I am the CCIE Agent and dedicated to the careers of future CCIEs and current CCIEs. Faisal Khan has a passion for training voice and Unified Communications professionals. He lives and breathes Cisco voice and even further believes in how this knowledge can change a person’s life.
When I was asked by a reader of the CCIE Flyer to check them out I decided to pay them a visit. I spent 2 days with the students and Faisal the instructor in beautiful Toronto. What I saw was a group of students who were putting their career futures in the hands of a trusted instructor and mentor.
I learned that Voice Bootcamp has been around for 1 ½ years and in that time they have trained 200 professionals in nine countries. This is not a huge number until you take into account that all of the classes have been taught by Faisal himself. This is a family business and the Faisal his brother, wife and father can be found in their offices every day. I got the feeling they are all pretty tight. On this day I was pleased to meet several students in attendance that had made a daring commitment to their futures. They quit their jobs to join together and finance Faisal’s time to train them for 3 weeks in preparation for them going on the market in pursuit of Cisco UC careers. Whoa. I hardly believed this until I met with each of them individually. What a great concept unique in its approach. I was soon to learn about other unique approaches to learning Faisal has undertaken. I liked what I heard about one of them so much I am preparing an article for IT World based upon the TV series called Big Brother. You know, where they lock away a bunch of folks in one house and set them upon each other to win a bunch of money. Well Faisal has actually holed himself up with over a dozen Cisco certification seeking UC engineers for 15 days, living and cooking together in one house!
What I think is different about Faisal’s company is that Voice Bootcamp custom tailors their class for the audience. Some classes prepare for the CCVP while others prepare folks for work and still others prepare for the CCIE lab.
